Unsure, I realize my coach is trying to give me exercises to get more stability and perhaps better train at the age of 66; but I miss a number of exercises I use to do routinely. Often feel I'm disappointing my coach w progress even though i never miss a workout and I follow my nutrition better than many people. I do not like the feeling of being disappointed or disappointing others

While I feel anyone would benefit greatly, I wouldn't recommend this level of commitment and dedication for everyone if their goals are not high level. The service is great, I just don't think the price is reasonable for the "casual" fitness enthusiast.

Success it up to the individual who is doing the program. Define this early on.
The coaches have a reasonable clear map to follow. Communicating this to each person in a style they can understand only helps.
Get people involved in the main group call quickly.
I joined over the Christmas period and was 4 weeks in before calls started and some parts of the program had to wait until the world opened back up for testing and Work started again.

There are lots of great things that take time with the program.
The Program gets better as you progress through it. When you start to see results and learn why certain things are important and your knowledge increases.
Being an Australian and joining when i did, having access to the 4th month is a massive thing.
Most of the results/ changes will come in the last 6 weeks of the program.
A point noted at the start of the program. The Australian Conversion rate is a hard sell. This was already factored in with the first call discussion.

The service is excellent when the goal is significant/immediate action. I think the price is high for those looking to continue long term coaching when getting into sustainable and maintenance goals. This doesn’t seem to be the ideal/target clientele which is fine.

Josie, I’m fine with Gavin and the program. What I want to say, offline, is I just did stem cell therapy in Codta Rica based on Ben and Gavin’s recommendation. That was great. And I know they’ve been busy with their two CR groups. But still, I had to contact Cellebrstion Wellness myself, I had to figure out the hotel closest myself, I had to contact them to set up the appointments because it had not been done, and I had to change my departure flight at my expense because what little I had been told about the schedule was wrong. I just spent $7,000 for everything, and got that I would have hoped someone would have at least put me in contact with Wellness rather than my doing it all myself. Moreover, again I know they’ve were busy, but Ben and Gavin never contacted me while I was in San Jose to see how things were going, even to say they were too busy to see me. Sara did check in Sat night, asked how things were. I said fine. That was it, no other contact. So I’m disappointing flew to CR for the weekend to do this but had to figure it all out on my own. I’m grateful for the recommendation, but there was no help for someone who had not been there before. I figured it all out on my own.

Programming kind of fell off near then end; I’m incredibly happy and am pressed with the new things I learned and how quickly we were able to get my body composition to change losing weight, Chris was incredible with this. With that being said, I feel like as my time neared an end I became a bit of an afterthought. Communication was fewer and further between, and workouts started to feel redundant. This could 100% be just my feeling and a misinterpretation, but for paying $5000 it seemed like the individualization of my workouts and eating was ALL at the front end of the program and at the end it was just some loose guidance; the follow up offers to continue the program weren’t all to intriguing given how much money was already put into it. Contact with Greg didn’t really exist by the end and I was left with a bit of a “what do I do know” feeling in regards to my GI issues and the process we were going through.
I don’t mean for any of this to sound unappreciative or to undercut just how knowledgeable and helpful Chris and Greg both were, but at $5000 I think it’s helpful to be fully transparent with how I expected things to end and how they actually did.

I think either the cost should be lower for what the full 3 months entailed, or the communication should be a lot more frequent a clear from the M.I. side of it. Again, this could be a “me” problem, but I felt like the “irritating/annoying” client if I reached out too much or had too many questions over WhatsApp.
I mean for none of this to reflect negatively, as overall I am thankful and appreciative of getting to go through this program, but I believe at the cost I payed it’s important to give thorough feedback. I should have said more about this during the time I was in, but I guess I didn’t really consider these thoughts until it came to an abrupt end.

MI offers so much great information but due to my own time restrictions, I am not able to fully appreciate what is available. For example, there are two coaching calls a week and during the last 12 weeks, I have managed to attend two, although I have watched several of the recordings.
Gavin has been a great coach. I believe I am more lean now than I have been in 20 years. The main reason is Gavin helped changed my mindset to first I need to become lean, then I can build muscle. Previously I was attempting to build muscle without first becoming lean.

this is a fair question, to which i'm not sure I have a a solid answer for. The calls on Wed are great. The Programing is quite good and on point with my goals. I often change up the program due to time or other impediments (knee/ shoulder pain) I wonder if some like of pick one of these options for you work out might be a nice addition. ( i have never been a rule follower, I ask questions and often times tip toe the line of bending rules etc)

Greg is awesome, so none of this is related to him, but more of ideas to improve the customer expereince with Muscle Intelligence overall. It's not a cheap program. At the minimum it should've come with a shirt, bag, or other swag. I did get a book which was appreciated. Would be cool to have a gym shirt, free marketing for you as well.
Would be awesome for local members like myself, or people who'd like to visit tampa at their exmpense, to have some type of in-person engagement. Team workout to help with form, discounted MI40 gym membership, free Dexa, hell - literally anything for a local person would be great since nothing is currently offered.
The excel tracker is a good starting point, but create a client dashboard with a friendly user interface on a web portal to automate a photo timeline and data visualizations from the weekly check in. Hire a gig worker off Fiverr or Upwork w/ Business Intelligence and web development experience get this done cheap.

What would we have to do to take this to a 5?:
Incorporate the above to provide a higher level and comprehensive product suite to cater towards the professional clientele that can afford the program, or lower pricing so you are not disenfranchising my peers. I'm pretty sure most of the members are successful business owners, doctors, lawyers, etc. I may be the only 29 year old recruiter. 10+ of my peers have asked what service I am using and when I walk them though the inital cost and services no one has been able to justify the cost for the service at their current budget.

Had a couple of points of misalignment with Coach Chris that we had to discuss but he was open and receptive and we are now on the same page across-the-board. My current rate of progress is only frustrated by my lack of leanness after the bulking phase, but this is quickly changing and we are on the right track. All in all Chris is a great coach.
Also having access to and input from Ben and Greg Foley for supplementation and nutritional protocols regarding specific health and metabolic challenges adds tremendous value and awareness that Muscle Intelligence is a community and ecosystem that is far beyond a personal training program.

I have shared for months I wasn't happy with my progress. The program was not working. I felt the workouts were boring, and not designed for me, the diet that wasn't working was minimally altered once, and still, despite being true and rigorous failed to produce weight loss and more importantly increased energy. I stopped checking in and no one had ever reached out to me for follow-up. I'm sure to many of your clients a $6,000 investment isn't a lot but to me, it was a huge sacrifice, and a sincere commitment to better my life. Add the thousands in supplements the additional "test" and the organic food this was a $12,798.00 failed project.
The fact I still get these surveys proves u do not read the feedback. STOP

I don't feel the programs were designed for me. I feel they were basic and generic, and found most of them online via free websites and videos from other pro athletes.

What would we have to do to take this to a 5?:
I asked multiple times to have the levels of coaching explained it wasn't. (What would the low-cost program have included since I was told I purchased the second to the highest.) I asked multiple times for an individual workout for my body, not just my body type. A diet that worked.
I believe the podcast is incredibly informative and was seduced by the professional & intelligent content with the hope and naive belief combined with my efforts, discipline, and dedication to succeed could be life-changing. I would have been a forever and loyal client most likely committing to the next level and telling everyone I know vs the embarrassing and disappointing reality I should have better researched the coaching side of this company before diving in.

This isn't make or break, but adds friction - MI has lots of tools/communication channels and it doesn't appear consistent across coaches.
TrueCoach, Telegram, Facebook Private group, Email, MI Academy site, Whatsapp, Loom, Google Docs. That's a lot of places to have to go/check/track.
I really dislike TrueCoach. It's difficult to track progress week to week. The client can't make changes in it other than notes (example, if I swapped an exercise, it doesn't get logged, except in the notes). There are many other issues with TrueCoach. I would rather get a workout in a spreadsheet that's easy to print, edit, and log.

My bodyweight and performance in the gym declined significantly during the 1st 3+ months in the program. Coach Andrew came on board and has turned things around to where I have put back on some of the muscle I lost and gained back some of the strength. I am still 10 pounds below my starting bodyweight and 15-20% behind my strength levels when starting with MI

The adaptability is the biggest game changer for me. Andrew’s ability to work with my schedule changes is fantastic. That was my hardest thing to work around alone, figuring out what to do when to keep things moving forward.

The weekly 1:1 coaching calls are extremely valuable but the feedback in between is just as valuable so focus as much on the in-between OR if that is burdensome for coaches then 45 mins to one hour for 1:1 calls.
I could still use help with meal timing and quantities. I’ve shared my daily meals a few times but I feel that it deserves more iteration especially as we change macro levels. I’ll resend to Mike.

What would we have to do to take this to a 5?:
You charge a lot, which immediately makes it more difficult to sell to others. Your trainers have excellent knowledge and experience and are very good - I really enjoy working with Gavin and would recommend him as a trainer without hesitation.
But your product is not polished. For the amount you charge (I pay US $2,000 a month and was asked to a year’s fees up front - which I have never heard of in an online trainer service) you should be delivering an extremely slick and integrated user experience.
Training, nutrition, photos, scheduling check-ins, feedback, and providing stats should all be in one app, not pdfs for diet and supplements, a clunky training app (often with broken links), a separate nutrition app, links for scheduling calls and receiving loom updates over WhatsApp, and then a Google sheet for tracking progress - and no connectivity between apps. You charge too much for that to be reasonable to expect from clients.
Trainers should also keep a record of what they have been told regarding what equipment is available and refer to it when planning changes to training programme, so they don’t schedule workouts that can’t be done, which wastes time and money; and they should make sure that the instructions for exercises are clear, are included in writing in the workout plan, and have accurate videos that show not just the general type of exercise but match any specifics of grip, form, etc. Clients should not need to Google how an exercise is done to understand what their trainer has set them.
Some of these issues would not arise with in-person training, eg, checking form and tempo, showing how exercises are done. But the trainer and the service should fill the gap, not the client, especially at your price point.
As a result of this, the service is poor value for money and I do not believe it offers enough to justify the spend. If these issues were fixed, I would raise this score to a 5.

I like my coach. I think he is knowledgable and for the most part has great workouts. I am enjoying the workouts, except when they auto populate for 5 weeks without a change in weights, reps, sets. I have gotten little help with nutrition other than to try intermittent fasting.

The workouts are great. But for $500/month, just receiving workouts…. Sometimes the same exact workouts for weeks on end and maybe touching base with coach every 6-8 weeks…. (Not sure how often I should be meeting with him, I am self motivated and don’t need my hand held) the price seems way over market value for the cost of 4 weeks worth of workouts. Maybe it is because I am female and this program seems to be geared more towards men? Not really sure.

Chris is a fantastic coach, great knowledge, coaching skills. Chris has really helped me with execution and support around all aspects of my training. The issue I have is with my body type not the program. I am a hard gainer. Yes,I know Ben hates the expression, but after months of intensive training I put on small amounts of muscle mass at such a slow rate. I look much better than before, leaner more defined and more muscular, but I just cannot build size. Your program has made a huge impact in other areas of my life, I have so much energy for my day, which as a working a farther is wonderful. My recovery and breathwork have also made huge impacts and makes me a better and happier man.

The program is fantastic. It covers so much more than just the exercises, the other pillars as Ben refers to them. I would like more clarity on the ability to run medical test (23andMe, blood, stool), etc and have the results reviewed by someone associated with the team. I appreciate that this may have an additional cost, but providing this would be important. I know that this has been mentioned on the calls before, and it is something that does happen, but I am not clear on the process and all the tests available. I am also based in the UK, which may add an additional complexity. I am about to run my 23andme test and I will contact the team to help with analysis and next steps if required. Thank you. Andonis

Johnny has been great and has helped me break through some of my barriers that I was struggling with. He helped me organize my life in a way that has tremendously improved my quality of life. An issue I had with the whole program was that I didn’t get much outside of my coach. My schedule didn’t allow me to attend all the coaching calls, the discounts on the MI website didn’t work (ex. Vivo discount didn’t work), and I wasn’t really sure what else there was to take advantage of in terms of utilizing the program to its full potential. Like I said, Johnny was great and I learned a lot from him, I just paid a lot of money for the program and don’t feel like I got my money’s worth.

Yes. Follow through with things like the labs as it is what was paid for—feeling like you aren't valued as a client doesn't make you want to succeed or trust the program. Lack of customer service.

What would we have to do to take this to a 5?:
I paid for labs and asked about them multiple times because I'm interested in that type of stuff. I never got the labs done in the three months, and when I paid 15 grand, which is about half the price of a new car or college tuition- I would have expected better customer service to address my concerns. I emailed and talked to Ben and even Gavin, and nothing happened. And to some degree, I already feel ripped off due to false advertising. I also thought I was signing up to train with Ben online, which would have been nice to know if I wasn't going to be training with him. Gavin is great, but it was never revealed who I was being placed with after I bought the Elite Package, which has fallen short for me, and I regret not picking the group package. The program also does not make sense, as you fill out a lot of information that does not even seem to be used, such as food choices. I thought we'd get more details on nutrition from what Wayman told me about him eating specific foods that would keep him up at night, like tuna. I feel like I can pay a trainer at Muv Fitness or another gym to work with me in person and do nutrition for way cheaper, and I would get a lot more out of it. The only nice thing about this is the videos explaining the exercises. But overall, I was disappointed and did not feel like I got my money's worth. I've had better experiences with online coaches and in person. The other thing is Gavin is in the UK, which makes it so difficult to make those weekly check-ins. I wish I had been notified about this because it complicates my schedule and can add to my stress. I am taking a grad course, working full time, and working out. I have no flexibility to be up at 4 am or 5 am when I work out; instead, I have to do my check-in. Again Gavin is great, but the program does not take into account many things, nor do they ask beforehand if maybe it is ok to work with someone with that much of a time difference. I did not bother asking about perhaps a different trainer more in sync with my time zone, but as I could not get anyone to do the labs for me, I decided it would be pointless to email or try talking to someone. I am not satisfied with what I thought I was paying for and almost thought about contesting it as I felt I was led to what I thought this program was supposed to be like. Again paying 15 grand for no labs and not training with Ben as it says on the Elite package is a bit ridiculous. I know everyone on the team knows their stuff. My issue is mainly customer service, lack of communication, and false advertising.

Several days coach was out of pocket. Don’t mind the vacation days at all, but I probably should have been paired with someone more available for my first month. Most often, I was the one to reach out and ask for my workouts and there was a week time period where I didn’t have any posted after specifically asking for them. This is not to disparage my coach. He’s a really nice guy, I just don’t see $500 of value for what I got.

I understand the need for an assessment phase, but to do 3 weeks of the same workout over and over again seems superfluous. And at $500 a month, the whole first month seems more bureaucratic than personalized. I’ve sent a few emails the last couple days without response, trying to cancel my membership. In the initial marketing phase, emails were more prompt. I hate that this sounds so negative. My coach was very nice and I did gain some insight talking to him. I have also followed Ben’s protocols (MI40/MI40X) for a long time. I just wish I had gone in my original direction and bought the Lean for Life instead of being up sold to coaching.

My turning point was when I finally reached out and expressed my need for more communication. I believe I’ve had a major reset and am presently on a new path moving forward. Thank you Marcela for taking your time to hear me and also explain that changes are taking place and being implemented in the future. I was excited to receive the Muscle Intelligence Academy link:) Coach Leah has been doing an excellent job with critiquing and sending videos to help with my form. I did measurements on Monday and progress pics and was not pleased. I spoke with Leah the next day and she walked me through my bloat and how things change over night, etc. (just needed that reminder:)

I am pleased with this week's changes to the resistance work increasing the perceived and actual intensity of the exercises. I feel that for me keeping the exercises at a focused highly intense level but simple and straight forward works best. For instance one exercise was a lying lateral raise. While that may help isolate the muscle more than a standing lateral raise it is much more complicated to create the right move to maximize the result and as a result I lost my momentum for the day.
